Fashion blast from the past

Published by Admin at 2:08 PM under Throwback Thursday

House bonnets” were worn in the 1800s to keep the hair tidy and outside to keep dust out of the hair. The tradition of having an Easter bonnet came from women switching from winter to summer bonnets.

Bonnets became obsolete sometime in the early 20th century. Except for the obvious exception being in babies and small children.
